Hi all post this to see what is the response.
Well I got interested in action figures when someone bought me the SW - Han Solo 12" figure. Thats my first figuring. After that I started non-stop until now. Is like got to own everyone lar, no choice and no turning back ya. Is good and bad. Good in the sense that I own the lot and put up on the wall to capture dust. Bad is that alot of money spent. Dunno when old someone will take over the collection or not.
How's yours? L-)

Don't worry about when old lar, enjoy yourself 1st lor. If you don't spend on toys, you will spend on others want la...... $$ earned cannot bring to coffin leh, got to spend it anyway, just how you spend it.
Don't worry, u got a guy supporting you behind fully support you. I already spent more than $100k on hobbies. All hard-earned $$ since i start working part-time 25 years ago to now, so i got virtually no saving.
Asset is all toys and comics
haha..sky...u are not alone...

Than follows on with ghost busters, silver hawk, ninja turtles etc...
As for Jap action figs shall be Saint Seiya but is TW ver :( No value at all..

for me, my gf would rather me play with toys than play with women, though she finds some of my toys v expensive. ha ha....
I just started collecting last mth though.. but I initially was only trying to look for a HK toy - CiBoys but ended up collecting with Jap figures instead.. The ironic part is that till now I have yet to find that CiBoys figure when i have already spent thousand over on Jap figures.. Kinda funny man.. Wonder what got into me??

I started off very very young as i was born with some chronic gastro prob (sigh past liao dont wanna elaborate) so alot of time was spend lying in the hospital when i was young. Most of the time is cartoons, comics and toys that are my 'playmates'/'childhood mates' Overtime, i manage to overcome the illness by modifying lifestyle and lotsa others but i didn't manage to overcome the life of comics, cartoons and toys
Although not much i have, i do cherish them cause they are ones that 'walk' my past, 'walking' along with me in my present and will 'walk' with me into the future.
If i didn't remember wrongly,my first action figure is Max Ray from Centurions :supz:

Started comic reading on Xiao Liu Mang when heading for the Chinese Barber back in the old days. Started on Action Figures in the 1980s when He-man, Thundercats, Transformers, Superfriends, Centurions was popular. I believe there will be phases in life where you just move from one thing to another.
 got interested when my brother start collecting comics when i was in primary... start collecting toys/figures in my uni life when my gf gave them to me as xmas presents, and i never stop collecting since then :whistling

Started my comics collection when i was in the army (almost 17 yrs liao ..still remember i bought a whole set of dragonball (close to 40 bks in all) comics from Taiwan when I went there for training) ..nothing better to do ...coz need to stay in .. so comics became a great past time .. only became serious collector when started working
As for toys .. my first serious ones are either the gundam or Spawn figs abt 10+ yrs ago .. got them cheap from some sale (could b from taka) ..and have been looking out for bargains ever since ..

I was a huge comis buff back from 1996... My roommate at the time introduced me to the comic gerne and i was instantly hooked on X-Men: Age of Apocalypse and Kingdom Come storylines... I went hunting for all the orginal comics of those titles back then and even now still... You cannot imagine my joy when they released the Absolute Kingdom Come Hardcover comic...
My first "real" action figure was sold to my by fellow HobbyHype-er Darkmaul. It was Marvel Legends Blade figure. He then intro me to the Clark Quay (back then) flea markets and toy stalls... I was in heaven :pray2: That was back in 2004 (i think)...

started reading DC / Marvel comics at the book shelves at the Times bookshop at Thomson Plaza when i was a kid.
bought my first trade paperback (batman : knightfall) from the defunct Tower records back in 1996. the other trade paperback, batman : azrael made me into comics collection, hunting down azrael issue 1 to issue issue 38 back then and started going the comic shop at serene centre every thurs/fri/sat to check on the newly released shelves to get any titles related to batman. :D
then my first trip to the clark quay flea market back then in 2003, explored me to the action figures scene especially at spawnasia. bought my first set of spawn series 24 figures.
DC Direct released batman hush figure based on the design by jim lee in 2003/04 kicked off my collection of some DC Direct figures.
as for now, just selectively DC Direct figures and less spawn figures.

During my secondary days, started reading those hong kong weekly comics, follow by Japanese manga & Marvel comics. Guess it started with those street figther & KOF weekly comics from HK. Recently the increase of my action figures collection was due to the influence of movies.
Here's how my messy room looks like now with full of figures :|

Your messy room? :o Dunno about what's beyond what the photos show, but your toys are definitely kept tidily!
Anyway, had actually started having toys back in lower Primary...can't really say collect, as I really play with them, to the extent of paint job getting scraped etc... Still remember collecting Batman figures the most, then moved on to Power Rangers, then Spider-Man...(tried Gundam, but never really got to 'perform well' in the hobby...:red: )
Somehow, kinda stopped at secondary school, though I played Beyblades for a short period of time (I still have them though, and are still functional... :red: ) But this time started on manga collecting...the very first series collected is Love Hina, and from then on went into a 'downwards spiral'...
Then started on small figurines, Naruto being the first series...but following the degeneration of the Naruto anime, my love for the related toys died too...then started watching Tokusatsu, having remember watching a badly dubbed Faiz and thus wanted to see how the original voices sound like.
Got hooked on Toku ever since...and my first SH toy would be Hyper Kabuto (bought at too high a price...cuz still 'noob' then...:red: ), marking my first step into toy-collecting. :D
And yah, those who are facing wives who nag are lucky...
I doubt I would ever get attached with this hobby of mine...

Me started about 15 years back trying to locate my favourite childhood toy, it was a early 80s 'Robo-8-Chan' chogokin lorry made by Popy(Present day Bandai). I didn't even know the name & there wasn't internet back then so its like a wild goose chase trying to explain to toy shops what was it. I ended up buying lots of other Robo-8-Chan, Robomaru, Robocon figures of sorts all over the world til I got my lorry and thats where my toy collection started. Til date, I've sold most of them to buy other stuffs I wanted, but the Robo-8-chan lorry will always stay with me.:yeah:
