You saw it before? I am always tempted to get just any one set, but Kato ones are very limited.

I remember watching a video clip of a train travelling at like 520+km/h?

Almost there, 320km/h, so far the fastest in the world :yeah:

Patented German Technology.
No friction = Greater Speeds.

The tech has been around for a long time. Just that no-one wanted to use it cuz it is veri veri veri expensive.

France is known for many things, but one of its better-kept secrets is that it is a world leader in rail transport technology. (Railfans know this, but most of the general public does not.) The flagship of French rail technology is the TGV or Train Grande Vitesse (“High-Speed Train”), the world’s fastest train. TGVs regularly run at 300 km/h in normal service on some lines. And even this high speed is well below the TGV’s limits: the TGV holds the world’s record for speed on rails of 515.3 km/h, or roughly half the speed of sound.

However.. check this

MagLev Trains (http://www.howstuffworks.com/maglev-train.htm)

and this..

Fastest conventional train
515.3 km/h (322 mph) France, TGV-A set 325, 18 May 1990.

Fastest third-rail electric train
174 km/h (109 mph) UK, class 442 (Wessex Electric) emu, 11 April 1988.

Fastest maglev train
581 km/h (363 mph) Japan, MLX01 maglev train (manned), 2 December 2003.
