Recently, i sold an expensive statue on ebay and the buyer paid via paypal. I sent via speedpost air parcel with tracking number

After 3 weeks, the buyer file a claim via paypal on me. He claim he did not receive the parcel. So via paypal platform, i subsmitted proof of shipment accordingly to uphold my case while checking with Singpost the status of the parcel since the online tracking not updated.

Before even i got a reply from SingPost, paypal decide in favour of the buyer and reverse the payment.....

While SingPost is still tracking the parcel with USA side which might take weeks, paypal already make decision in favor of buyer.

Although i can appeal but it given me only 10 days after which the case is closed..... How can i appeal if i still waiting for SingPost status or reply? If Singpost doesnt get back to me in time, i gonna lost big time ie. $80 shipping cost and a few hundreds on the Statue...........

I was quite angry why the seller is not protected even it has ship the item with tracking no and provide proof of shipment in a dispute........
Is it the seller fault if the buyer did not buy shipping insurance in a event of a parcel gone MIA?:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Anyone feel free to comment:beatup:

Since the appeal due day is drawing close, i try to submit a letter from Singpost that show it was checking for me the parcel status.

Outcome: i try the "Appeal" option on paypal and its doesn't seems to work.......:bang: :bang: :bang: I gonna call them tomolo for an explanation

Feel for you boss, usually Paypal offers buyer protection more then seller in the case where the seller cannot produce proof of shipment, but in your case there is tracking.

Not sure how they really work, but if its like what you say, Ebay sellers always on the losing side since all the new rules kicked in, cannot even leave bad feedback for buyers, WTH?

The best part is then what is the purpose of shipping insurance?

No need buy insurance also get insure, that something good for buyer:question:

I bought from overseas sellers before also. Some of them accept only cash and no other means. It may be the reason also that they are pissed off with Paypal for offering more protection for the buyer.

For those sellers, it is not the usual mindset of "customer is king". It's the "ai lai mai sua" type. If you are the buyer, and you want something badly, you will take the risk of having the money lost in transit to get what you want. And if you are not really dying to have it, they would rather not sell it to you, less you lodge a claim after deciding "not to pay for it".

But if that will greatly decrease your sales, than may not be worth it though.

Ebay, PayPal & Visa all protect buyer's interests becoz there're too many cases of sellers not shipping after payment is made... some naive sellers thot that there's nothing a buyer can do abt it since they've already paid up... I've once bought something on the net and pay thru' visa, the goods didn't arrive (after 2 weeks, and thereafter didn't arrive at all), and I'd called visa to instruct 'em to void the payment, and they did w/o asking me for evidence...

Its ok to protect buyer if seller doesnt ship, thats absolutely fine with me. I'm talking about seller who have shipped and yet kenna penalised:beatup:

yeah, I know how u feel... I'm puzzled why u got penalised despite having all the evidence that u did ship the item out... wht I'm saying is that these companies lean toward the buyers instead of the sellers, hence the treatment u got from 'em... I'm lucky that I'd yet to encounter any problem as a seller, despite me always shipping via normal surface mail, I usually tell the buyers in the states that it'd take 2~4 weeks for the items to reach 'em... it's also important to check the feedback of the buyers, to make sure that they're not those "smelly" type...

PS: I do feel for ya, seriously :salute:

I never use PayPal before and is seriously disgusted by the issue raised from Lonewolf's transaction oversea. This is serious lope side affair with no protection to seller whereby he is the victim and yet punishment is directed to him.

Then what modes of payment would you accept for international customers then?

Western Union? Bidpay?
Money Order? They need to mail the cheque to you first right then it takes time and then you need to send the item after you cashed the cheque? =/

Please suggest some better payment methods then...

Hmm i don't understand. After 2 weeks wouldn't the seller have already received the money? How to void it?

I guess best is don't be a seller in the ebay. Be a buyer instead ;) Otherwise, deal with cheque or bank transfering method. Don't deal through paypal for all sellers :whistling
