juz came back to collect my toys. feelin damn sian.. need some opinions.. Im regular at both Shop A & B. at 1st i wanted to preorder e toys from Shop A coz Shop A preorder price is lower than Shop B, then when e stuff came due to the change in the currency, Shop A's stuff now become more expensive than Shop B's preorder price n even more ex than wad Shop B is selling now which is not preorder price even.. E price of the toys i've gotten is not very high but the percentage rise was almost 25%. Althou i have been told of fluctuating prices due to currency i did nt expect it to be so much. Feel kinda pissed n sian that instead of more savings end more spending more when i had e chance to get at Shop B's fixed preorder price. I still have other preorders with the shop which some are quite expensive. Im considering whether to continue to fulfill the pre orders that i have at Shop A or juz cut them. I have paid some deposit for some items, not all thou..

Nothing you can do now, just get at the lowest price possible lor. Regretting over spilled milk is pointless so just get from Shop A or wait it out. That's the advice I would provide. Since you said the amount increased is not much, close one eye and just get it lor. Cheers.

erm it was 25% of the initial quoted price which was like $10-$20 dependin on cost of it. if all increase then amount to quite alot leh.

Icic, my bad I misread your post. Anyway since you mentioned you're a regular at the shop. Ask if they can honour their initial pre-order price. Otherwise, not just get back your refund and try your luck at another place. All the best.

For my point of view. Depend on hw much u buy in total loh...If u jus buy 50-80. the amount ard $10-20 for 20% right, jus keep e same shop loh. but if u buy more than 100 over then observe for 1 or 2 more mth...if still e same, change lah...wat for still buy from same shop, if really regular customer they should lower the price to retain their customer.
Tok to them c whether can negotiate the price b4 change...

e amount u mean or quantity? well for a item that is below 100 increment is alr about $10. for other item which was $100 increment was about 15-20. i still got 6 or more preorders.
simple. everyone goes for the cheaper ones.
unless u r a loyal customer, then continue to be a loyal customer. otherwise buy the cheaper ones since there are no difference in the toys u r getting. but shit can happen, maybe next time shop B becomes more expensive... shopping is like this. :D
so need to do abit of research and once bought, dun go compare other price, since it's always painful to find out a cheaper price where u already bought at a higher price.

Actually I've cases where, morning go 100, afternoon go 250 kinda thing; In case you're wondering, its some MP transformer toys.
Thank goodness the shop honored their initial price and did not go like 'oh cannot' crap.
Honestly, just ask if can get back the pre-order deposit and cancel, unless you have something only they bring in, I suggest just give up the deposit and get from other shops. (If the other prices < given up deposit + cost of goods)
Which is why transparent prices = best. Put Jap Yen prices may be risky during pre-order. Let them have a SG convert and ask them bite on their lips to confirm it'll be the final price when it comes. If not, don't buy lo! :supz:

Since that's the case, don't preorder from that shop anymore but what has already been done you can't reverse it, so just move on and take it as a lesson learnt, don't make yourself miserable.

I'll screw the seller if I was you. They should sms or email to inform you that the pre-order price increased on whatever reasons. And should asked you in advance whether you still want the order instead. If no, they will backout your order and let go to someody else.
Let say, the price is difference of $10-15, LL just take it. But now the price is $30 more and they never inform you, wtf service is this???
You better state clearly with him. For the rest of the pre-order u have made, if the price is exceed $15-20(whatever price u expect) more, you will not take the stuffs and just claim back the deposit
Stop patronised this shop in future if same incident happen again. Rather pay $5-10 more on other shop even though their preorder is slightly higher than this shop

Oh, thats the case you better cancel all those orders and try to get your deposits back ( Not sure if they ll allow you to do that though ) If not they really think you are one big walking carrot....
Good luck....:)

yeah of course no flaming and baching people's shop, but thanks for pm.
anyway i think if this preorder price is not wat it is stated or has very big difference, find other shops for pre-oder, anyway sg has alot of toy shops selling the same things :P not that hard to find

well to me preorder should be cheaper if nt y preorder to risk e final product being diff from prototype? then it doesn't feel gd to be things tt u buy come slower n cost more, which in this case cost more than not juz e preorder price, but e selling price. it does not justify for me to preorder e stuff plus e fact tt i m a regular of e shop.
oh well... it's definiitely a bad business strategy... they made a one time gain, but lose heaps of potential future gains... so, I don't expect 'em to stay in business for long, and time to sought out another shop to frequent ;)

i haf 2 shops which i frequent but e other dun brg in as much anime figures. so time to go i guess. tryin to consider to forgo my deposit or not.
this is wat i do. i usually check out the prices online see how much other shops/sellers sell, then convert to SG dollars and compare to the shops here selling. so roughly i will have an idea how much those toys cost in the market. :D
