this is a very good topic to bring up justin. in fact, i was talking bout this too with my friends during our lunch time.

my opinion is, Singapore is actually a very encouraging country for entrepreneur to start up they own biz. with all the schemes and grant friom the goverment, to set up a biz now a days in indeed much simpler than the older days.

Besides, geographically and financially, i always think that singapore is a great place for biz, why? very simple, singapore is small, so logistics is no issue. and sgp is located just nice in between the neighbourhood countries like malaysia, indonesia and thailand. so this will increase the biz opportunities as well. Entre who knows the way to link up biz between these countries can certainly make their way up ...well, justin, if u were only asking, "Does Singapore a good environment for entrepreneur?", well, frankly speaking, NO! if u are just looking at the local market, YES! if u make sgp as the regional HQ and venture into oversea market. with all the advantages in IT, communication and logistics, sgp IS a encouraging place for entre to start up their EMPIRE!!!

BUT, not to mention the numbers of competitors exist in the industry u involved (which is one of the main reason why many company collapes and closed down), to survive, one need to know way in and way out the market and NEVER NEVER limit urself locally. local market profit volume is only just nice to feed ur partial cost. only if u can out beat ur competitor by bringing in oversea biz can make u rich. (this is igonre by most of the closed down com, as their target market only focus in sgp ONLY...) sigh....

:D only my 2 cent view....
