One of my friends over here gave me a number of animes to watch..
a big set of files!

He gave them to me a couple of weeks ago,
and i didn't have time, so did not bother to check them out.

so one night when i was about to go to sleep,
i took a cursory glance at them..
One of them was called Basilisk-The Kouga Ninja Scrolls..

I don't watch many animes, so i can't be considered an expert on this subject matter or anything..

But the second second i watched it, i was hooked!

I watched till 4 am that morning.. had class the next day at 8.30am,
so no choice had to stop.

It's probably one of the most brilliant pieces of work i've ever seen
(i might be a little biased, given my penchance for samurai, ninjas and jap chicks),
a classic Romeo and Juliet love and betrayal story played out in fedual Japan.

With lots of fantasy ninja action thrown in, and not to mention the hot geisha-like kunoichi.

I went through marathon sessions to complete the entire 24 episode series in 2 nights.
That's how good it was.

I can't go on describing it for fear of inadvertently causing spoilers.

But catch it if you haven't seen it, esp if you liked Ninja Scroll.

M18 action included. :supz:

edit: more reason to catch it..
great animation + plus a rocking soundtrack!!
and hot ninja chicks!

There's a recent movie adaptation (sorta) of it too, called Shinobi: Heart Under Blade.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHINOBI_Heart_Under_Blade

It's a bit on the short side; action is good for a while but everything moves a bit too quickly.

Trade you the movie for the anime :p
And get online on MSN sometime, you horrible person -__-

Good suggestion but useless to jdelpiero cos his cheena power is in the negative zone - plus he's in Australia XD
His only hope will probably be to find some ... other translated resource ... on a certain worldwide interconnected electronic network ...

I think i caught a short bit of the movie at your place before i left for Aussie..
Looked interesting to me.. wanted to get it from you but i think i forgot about it.

but the anime freaking rocks man!
have to wait until i get back in Feb(most likely) to copy to u.. :D

BTW, I'm offline most of the time cos my internet is down..
too damn expensive to buy prepaid..

so currently i'm waiting for some cheenapoks to move on back to Cheena,
then i can move into another room to share subscribed internet..
might take another week or two before i'm online again fulltime. :(

currently borrowing my frd's pc to use internet for a while.

edited my 1st post to add more reasons to watch it... :)

ooo...

my HK frd just took me through the website(cos it was only in Cheena or Jappo)
the people all ugly one!
the two leads are probably the only decent looking people in the movie..

heaps of beautiful women in Japan and they had to get the ugly ones for kunoichi.. :(

they look so much better in the anime!
Hot ninja chicks!!
