If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an
ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The
ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you
requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists.

wow... very interesting :D

since we're not used to keying in our PIN in reverse order, we would take some time doing so... if the robber knows abt this "PIN reversal" thingy, he might poke knife up ur axx... so, I better start training for reverse PIN entry :yeah:

it is reported in the strait times today that the email message is a hoax, as it is confirmed by the association of banks in spore (abs). no such measurement is being used...

if really true, how come we never receive the offical letter from the bank, right....

I suspect that what piglet posted is the entire text of the email - meaning that the reference to this "news" being "broadcasted on TV" was also part of the email and an attempt to make itself sound more credible.

That is, this info was never really in the TV news at all.
