Beast Wars Reborn, BWR-01 will be releasing in mid Feb instead of late Dec as reported before. BWR-01 will be Beast Convoy and Beast Megatron, both will have remolded face and new coloring, the 2 pack will come with a CD-ROM titled "Golden Disk" that contains some info on the history and development of the series.

I personnelly love this set for it detail and combination package deal of the transformer leader and golden disc. I was still in "secondary when Beast War was being air in Channel 5" (damm slow), love it storey lines and top notch 3D animations. This beast war concept is now i think being copied by the new King Kong "the fighting of T-rex and King Kong" LOL! :shooting:

I have nothing to say about megatron. But this beast wars optimus is one of the better optimus toys out there. At less it is way better than transformer superlink grand convoy/energon optimus and micron legend convoy/armada optimus. This piece is a classic.:supz:

You are right. They are not the same character. Even this beast megatron is not the G1 megatron, though they both have the same name. Actually I like the Hasbro leader remoulds quite a lot - more so the Megatron, who now looks a lot fiercer. Plus he has a hand :) Optimus' colours are a bit dull, and his beast mode is um, interesting, may take a while to get used to it. I'll buy them if they hit our dept stores.

Hm. Seeing the real thing - there are some minuses for me:
1. Face seems too black. Detail doesn't show through. Could be lousy photo tho.
2. Lavender? is too light and bland. Needs some sort of wash to bring out detail.

These are minor gripes. The one that disappoints me most is:
3. Leg poseability seems hampered by lack of side-to-side ankle joint / balljointed ankle! So you can't get the feet flat on the ground in the legs apart poses :(
