Get the display boxes from the toy shops at XiMenDing as well, they're selling at NT100, 3/4-steps and height is enough for you to display the usual 3" figurines ;)
Also there's 1 3-storey high comic shop selling TW mangas, Jap/TW magazines :D

Just came back from Taipei on mon... let me sum up some of the better places to get toys...
Overall the toys and Cds, Dvds in Taipei is not very cheap. Variety wise that depends on what you looking for... Old stuffs not much...
1) Train stop - Taipei Zhong Xiao Dunhua Station 忠孝敦化站
Exit at exit #8.
once you come out of underpass, walk straight, cross a small road and on your right you should be able to see a building called 頂好名店城.
Its an old looking interiors something like lucky plaza but smaller scale.
3rd flr got a shop names Monster Taipei.
4th flr another shop named Tin Tin.
The rest of the shops are mainly fashion items for gals...
Both shops opens around 1pm so don't go too early.
2) Behind 頂好名店城 building, at 大安路一段 51巷 21號 D4
There's a shop named Maxxdragon. Quite messy but maybe you guys might find something you might want.
3) Taipei Zhong Xiao Dunhua Station 忠孝敦化站
Exit at exit #7.
Once you get out of the underpass from the station, you'll see a small alley.
Walk straight into the alley and on your left, a shop called 2%.
And besides it is a small entry door leading to a shop called Hot Dog Toyz.

Continues...
4) Xi Men Ding Wan Nian Commercial Building 西門町萬年大夏
This not so good looking building has been mentioned by alot of our members here. It sits at the intersection of Xi Ning South road (Si Ning S Rd on map)
and Emei Street located after the famous Xi Men Ding area.
1 flr sells alot of watches and some gadgets.
2nd & 3rd flrs sells fashion clothings, shoes, etc and just 1-2 shops selling toys (There's a shop which sells air guns and paintball guns and rifles and military stuffs quite kewl but can't buy...)
4th flr is a heaven for us! Loads of model kits, action figures, games, comics, anime shops. Price slightly high but worth paying if you can't get them in Sg.
5th flr is filled with arcades and machines like our entertainment ctrs.
5) Taipei City Mall 台北地下街
This is the actual name for it.
It is situated at Taipei Main Station (MRT).
Or you can go by another route which I've not tried.
Its at 市民大道地下街 from 台北火車站市民大道出口.
An underground shopping area good for winter and cold weather...
With loads of foodstuffs, clothings and artifacts.
Walk towards the south of Taipei City Mall 台北地下街...
You'll find shops upon shops of toy heaven and comics and occasionally groups of kids and teenagers gathered at game shops Wifi'ing their handheld consoles and linking them to the TVs at the shops.
Great area to find cheaper stuffs but BECAREFUL!
I realised some of the shops are selling very cheap candy toys or even figures which might infact be bootlegs. Just beware...
6) Shilin 士林 - 劍潭站出口
I heard that 大東路 and 文林路 along the station there is some toy shops but I didn't have the time to go there (too busy eating at the night market)
大北路 26號 (in btwn 大東街 & 文林街) there is a shop selling some model toys and near this shop there is a comic shop called 一刻館漫畫書坊.
文林路 198號 A shop selling old toys called 我搜你藏.
7) New York New York - Toys'R'Us
Its situated opp Taipei 101. This building has nice foods as well and things are more affordable as compared to 101. It has a big MUJI store as well.
8) Taipei 101 basement there's a toy shop... Never been there too so i don't know what it sells... But the foodcourt at 101 is worth trying!
Hope this helps to those who're going and don't know where to go...
If you have more infos to share, pls do! So that my next trip will not be the same places again! Thanks guys! Cheers!

Some stuff like the Kotobukiya ArtFX starwars series, very much cheaper than SG, SIC prices are roughly the same, though you can find older rarer pieces. A lot of Manga/anime gashapons and trading figures. Gunpla kits also.
beware bootlegs :shooting:

I am referring to the UIC building in Singapore and informing u that u can get free mrt cards from them if you can prove that you are going to taiwan with your itinerary and hotel voucher.
for the benefit of those who are going to taiwan but not aware of this special promotion, hope it helps.
As for your queries on where sheraton is , i am not too sure, but u just need to go to the taipei underground shopping mall, u can find lots of toys there, they have similar shops like our toypost here and u might be able to find some gems there, but sometime the prices can be steep.
Other places where u can find toys include Wan nian building at simending (nothing much for anime and manga stuff) and shilin night market, there is this shop in a isolated allay but they sell a lot of toys.
Hope the above infor helps for those going to taiwan.

u can go to taipei mrt station. Take exit Y and u can shop at the underground shopping center. Inside have a stretch of toy shops. other than tat, Xi Men Ding also have but slightly more expensive. The Gundam there are cheap. The rest more or less the same price. I got a 1/48 gundam for about NTD$2250. which is about SGD$100. At a shop in the underground shop at Taipei Mrt. Take Exit K. I cannot remember which shop just tat one selling games and some toys too. Take a walk around loh. The whole underground shopping area have a lot of things.
