What became of the U.S.S.R.'s super-soldiers after the Soviet Union collapsed? The answer may be found in THE WINTER MEN, a thrilling 8-issue miniseries written by Brett Lewis (Bulletproof Monk) with art by John Paul Leon (Earth X, STATIC) that combines the Russian Mafia with fallen super-heroes!

Kris Kalenov is a war hero turned mobbed-up rent-a-cop who spends his days drinking and taking bribes in the "New Russia." While pursuing a seemingly dead-end kidnap case, Kris comes face-to-face with his past and uncovers old secrets that may awaken these super-powered sleeping giants!

yah, same for me. i missed out those years as i was disillusion with the glut of hologram covers, variants cover, eye candies. it was bad, really bad. sometime you really missed out the gems under those piles of sweetness that give you toothaches.

I only collected the Wildcats during Jim Lee and Travest Clarest time, which is the first series, I don't think I remember seeing these Winter Men then.

Got Issue #1...

...interesting read. Life sure is tough in Russia. A real dog-eat-dog world, even going to the supermarket is a totally mindbending.

The lead character just got sent off to the USA on a mission.
