I can never forget the days when i used to stay to grandma's hse during my childhood days where my parents would come to fetch me home at night. Her tv set was old and reception was extremely poor.I had to literally hold the antenna to the 'correct position' in order to haf a clearer view of my fav cartoon showing at tat time.So basically i was standing beside the old tv set wif one hand holding the antenna while my eyes were fixed on the tv.My hands dare nt move much.
Yes it's gotta be Transformers!
It was showing the Masterforce series on the old RTM channel at tat time.I was amazed by the cartoon so much.Esp by the junior headmasters where little kids can transform into heads of the transformers. It was way too cool!It wasn't too long after the series started showing tat i got my 1st junior headmaster toy, which was Hosehead.
After this series was followed by the Victory series.Once again amazed,i was hoping to get the main character toy Star Saber. But my dad gave mi a veri lame excuse.
"Son this toy is too big for u to play, choose other smaller ones..." -_-"
Instead i end up wif Leozack.. :bang:
After the series ended i tink i stopped gng to my grandma's hse to stay. But my mind was oredi poisoned wif transformers.I started saving my pocket money for tfs.Olden emporiums such as Oriental and Yaohan became my fav spots after sch.Even if i haf no $ wif mi to buy them,i was oredi veri happi looking at them on the shelves.
All these things carried on well into my secondary sch days.Gradually i began to tone down until to a point where i completely din buy anymore toys.Until the day when i was clearing leave from my national service abt 3yrs ago,i was roaming about in CQ(a place where i seldom go at tat time) and i stumbled upon a Starscream reissue.
***Childhood memories all coming back***
I can't help it but to buy it.And from then onwards............History began to write itself as i started my life as a toy collector.. :D
Thru Transformers i get to noe many great buddies such as CP and des to name a few..I get to understand a fact tat Transformers is here to stay in my life for quite a long while.. :supz:

err...frankly speaking, i dun really enjoyed the first series of the transformers when it was showing on channel 5 (1986). To me, it was very lame. i only enjoyed it after the transformer : movie, that was the point when the story and animation was better and getting interesting...
then came in the masterforce or victory series on the old rtm channel, i was so stunned because it wasn't the same as what i have watched the transformers of USA version....same reason as above, very lame....human being put on bracelets to transform into bot...wow, very lame too...
that is my point of view....still, i like megatron...all time fav!!! :supz:
just to add on after the lastest edited, i have get to know gud buddies too...chris, des n grave...thx for being there when i was abt to fall...
and of cos none of u are able to poison me with TFS toys... :supz:

Actually I like the series also, :D together with Mask and al others, really catch them daily after school.
I don't know if I remember correctly, but I think there was a time where I didn't manage to see any transformenrs sold at department stores, the same goes for Mask, He-man etc etc....I thought it was finished. Only recently than realise there are still so many fans out there and the comics are still going on (I just saw them in orchard). One of these days I will look at them again

For me, it all started out as watching the Masterforce & Victory (notice the similarities?) where I was amazed by the way they transform & combine. Though I did watch G1, but they don't catch as much attention as Masterforce from me.
Then 1 day as I was roaming in my neighbourhood stalls, I came across Kabaya's TFs. I waste no time thinking and bought them back. No money to buy the original ones, thus settled for cheaper ones
My 1st original TF was Tailgate & TM Blurr. Got them both when I bought the TF snacks and won a prize. Boy!!! Aren't I glad or what :hello:
Then, there was a low period where there isn't any TFs anime going on, thus I didn't really keep a look out for TFs anymore, until...... re-issue God Ginrai came in!!! That rekindle my sparks for TFs, thus now, I begin collecting TFs, whether loose, KO, WSTF, etc. I bought them..... selectively  again due to my budget constraint :bang:
What to do.... got kid, got family, must prioritized mah :(
Then 1 day, I was surfing the web when I stumble into SGC....then someone link me to Katoots and I was introduced by fireviewer to here ;)

My sideline actually. But I liked G1, and especially one black and white car. So cool. I never collected the toys cause I can see a lot of screws, until recently. I saw Binaltech line of toys and they were so *wow* ! And I met new friends through TFs :D

I actually started watching Challenge of the Gobots first with Leader-One and gang. It was so cool to see giant robots that can change into vehicles and I even got a piece that can change into a submarine as a birthday present. Then came the Transformers and I totally forgot about the Gobots cause the animation were much better, robots were better designed and the story is much cooler.
me got started from G1, really like their transformation damp cool, but did have the $$$ for the toy
but i remember 1 classmate who got all the cool tf toys & we'll all share his toy together, hahaha
few months back bought the whole of series 1-4 & enjoy meself in the childhood memories.....
then BT came out...I drool..... but after a few release found out that there are too many re-paint..so decided not to get any :x
but i still enjoy tf via the fanbook

As a kid, I juz happened to watch Transformers as one of the many cartoons back then. Never really liked it that much. As I grew older, hobbywise I moved on to electronic gaming. One of my favourite characters back then was Megaman X. What fascinated me was the concept and idea of a living robot, a robotic lifeform. As a human, the feelings and emotions we feel are often unable to be clearly defined. It fascinates me how a digital based robot would be able to function like a human, like a lifeform. It was a childish idea of mine that if I could ever understand the mind(s) of a robotic lifeform, how else difficult could it be to understand the human, self and others (ho ho, of cos, how ever wrong I was ).
Back in...(hold on, let me go check my expenditure database)...2001, I think, when I saw the God Jinrai reissue, my interest in Tf reignited, burning fiercely for the first time. As a toy, it reminded me of my limited childhood experiences with Transformers, and hit upon me as a fascinating realisation that Transformers was a tale about robotic lifeforms, and the endless struggle between good and evil, displayed in an unclouded simple manner. But still, I was unwilling to commit as a collector or a Transfan.
It was until Transformers Armada, when I saw the new Optimus Prime. Ugly as it may have seemed, I saw it as an oppotunity to start afresh as a fan. Unwittingly I got hooked onto something which became an unfillable desire to acquire knowledge about  The toys, the tales, the history, etc etc, all were interesting to me.
After 2 years plus, I've seen many different aspects of the Transformers fandom. The fans, the market, the dealers, the consumers, the debates, the production companies, the community, the friends made, and even the possible "enemies", are all valuable experiences that I've obtained from being a Transfan.
And my favourite quote, especially for the people of the Transfandom, "Till all are one." It doesn't matter how our opinions are, whether they clash or they agree, whether it's about the toys or the story, we are all fans of Transformers.
