I waited till neck long long will lor. Now they finally make this news.
This confirm will boast their coy's shares many % sia. Then the other hp companies will gan chiong what to do liaoz....:D
DoCoMo hps are really chio and of higher technology than any other brands lor.
I think SH might be the one bringing in since it is the only telco in sg with shares on DoCoMo.(but all the 3 telcos no difference wan lah.=)) )
But i am thinking if the Japan DoCoMo will release different firmware for their hp... Coz non-Japaneses will face problems using a all-Japanese words hp...:|

Yo guys......dont mean to pour cold water, but last few time I was in the Land of the Rising Sun and checked, all their phones doesnt have English menu/language, although the phones are not ex, avg $300+ to $800+ SGD. So unless your Nippon-ne is good, may be quite a longggggg wait.

Thats why they made the announcement they going to be compatible with more than 130 countries on their GSM mah. That will mean they have to come up with the few basic firmware like english/simplied chinese/traditional chinese and some european languages if possible.
But the target of two yrs is really kinda short for such a vast project... But they are rich lah. 1st mobile company to lauch 3G in the world. Largest mobile phone company in Japan. Maybe maybe still possible by 2yrs bah. I am not recontracting my hp plan liaoz.:D

My current hp plan will end July 2007.
Since DoCoMo say by 2yrs will finish compatibility for all their hp, meaning in btn will start liao bah. Hope that DoCoMo will give SH face to bring in earlier for the fact that SH has some shares in DoCoMo...

That is too chim for me liaoz...
Any programmer here???
I think shouldnt be too difficult bah... Afterall, if they succeed making their hp compatible with GSM, the market is unlimted wide sia. Imagine taking into Asia, Europe, America, Australia...:o As compare to now only within Japan, its sky high profits they will be counting after 2yrs lor.
Hmm.. faster.. go buy their shares!!

Not so much wan lah. Its paying back the remaining months in the subscriptions in the contract.
Lets say the plan is $30 a month then u left 10mths. So u pay them $300 lor.
If the Japaneses are smart enough, they should be releasing to some countries by this xmas liaoz, especially the caucasians. They really like spending on xmas seasons sia...
Wondering if NTT DoCoMo will release refurished phone to Singapore or lousy basic phones. Anyway I thinking of changing plan from ST to SH. I also using a NEC phone which has I mode funcations which i cannot use as using a singtel SIM card. =))
Any chance Japanese 2nd hand phone with english text can be found in Japan now? I thinking in investing into the business of it. ;) :yeah:

The official announcement is to enable all their handsets fit into GSM.
From what i know of DoCoMo, the models now available for use outside Japan are very limited.
Then the ones with english firmware lagi rare.
Investing in Japanese hp biz??? U mean bring in to sell in Singapore?
If so, there are a few models from Vodafone. But many "skills" involved.
There are a few different firmwares ard for them. UK, JP or HK. Each of them has its own pros and cons.
The few Vodafone handsets which i read are possible to work in sg:
Sharp
703SH
703SHF
804SH
903SH
904SH(waiting for firmware)
Toshiba
802T
803T
902T
904T
Samsung
804SS (almost same as ours z540)
Notice that the alphabets "SH" and "T" will mean the brand they are from.
The 1st digit represents the series of the hp. It seems that the bigger the 1st digit, the better the hp is.
The 3rd digit. I think it represent the cam power. Cant be sure also, remember reading all these in hwz before...
