Guys, one of the few books that don't need much dialogue to tell a story. If there is one book that i wanted to recommend the comic medium to any body who isn't into the wham bam story that most comics do, this it the one for the new be and disillusion.
Story is about a clandestine government project to develop prototype animal assasins to do the wetworks. The leads are 3 unlikely animals: A dog(golden retriever), a pussy(puns intented) and a rabbit. All these animals were abducted from their cosy home to be enhanced cybernetic. This series was presented in a cinematic way with pull out panels and its is detailed.
Back to the story again. So as soon as the government found that their experiment is too much with the use of animal for human termination, they decided to can the project along with the test subjects. As it goes, the animals were released by the compassionate scientist before the government terminates them. And the army was called upon to track and hunt them down. This set them up for a cat and mouse game and the used of unique weaponry from the animals to exterminate the army with extreme coldness. The writer (grant morrison) did a splendid job putting out a plausible story here and it definitely engaged my attention throughtout the entire 3 issues. At some point, the story becomes quite depressing with the plight of the animals and the death of one of the leads. Frank Quitely does a fine job in illustrating the sequences. Anyway, the story ends with a final showdown with the last cybernetic animal which was originally part of the animal wetworks group. Do pick up the trade. Strongely recommend.
