Just saw that C&C3 is scheduled for 1st qtr of 2007. :hello:

EA has always been slow at releasing new titles.

Don't know why EA SG had to drag for a few weeks before releasing TS2 Glamour Life when it was all over the 'Net. T_T

I have to say EA rushes in game development, hence many of the new games need immediate patches which they are slow at. Worst patches does not solve the bug problems. Those problem like in BF2 and BF2142.

The demo is awesome sia. Even though the skirmish has very few options, but it was great. The demo mission already lets you fire the Ion Cannon. Capture your opponent and test out the Nod's units.

The gameplay is quite intense. The weapon's type is more important now as machine guns will take damn long to destroy buildings and rocket types weapons will be difficult to kill infantry. So really need to build the right type of units to counter each other in the early game. But towards the end, the mammoth and a walker on Nod's side can take care of most other units.

Interesting thing is that Nod units can pick up technology from destroyed Nod units to upgrade themselves. I couldn't try it coz by the time i captured the Nod base, they totally couldn't retaliate.

There are also a lot more special weapons that can be deployed by both sides. However these weapons require money to purchase for every deployment with the exception of Ion Cannon & Nuclear Bomb.

I set the graphics settings all to max and the details were great, except the structures are still not in proportion. The Ion Cannon and Nuclear Bomb can really do some serious damage, much more than the previous 2 series.

Building area is rather limited coz the circle around the construction yard is quite small. However, the construction yard can now unpack and there is also a surveyor unit to expand your base in other areas at a fraction of the cost of a MCV.

Too bad we still can't get to see the scrin in the demo. Really looking for the release in March. :hello:

Saw a bug today, the juggernaut sometimes "slide" on the ground instead of walking. :laugh:

The left and right mouse clicks have been reversed from all previous release of C&C.

Mammoth tanks and Avatar Warmechs don't really "die". They will leave their hull and you can use engineers to capture them and use them as your own. :o

Interesting note is that when you have excess resources, your harvesters will stop harvesting and just wait outside the refinery until you build more silos for tiberium. Great AI. :D

Didn't Dune2 do this already with their harvesters?

And Dune 2 is the great-grandfather of all RTS games.

I can't remember much about Dune 2 except for their sandworms. :D

But since the first C&C, the harvesters continue to harvest even when you don't build silos and the excess will actually "leak" away. So in a way it's kinda new in C&C. :)

Just managed to explore the Avatar Warmech today.

It may seem like a lousy unit but it has the Commandeer Technology which can upgrade themselves. Even the mech looks different.

The animation is cool too. For the Flame Tank and Attack Bike, the Warmech will break the vehicle and grab something to attach to its back on either side. For the Beam Cannon, it will grab its cannon and attach to its other arm. After all the upgrades, it is stealth, able to detect other stealth units, shoot flames instead of laser at infantry and buildings (smart AI) and lastly shoot it's laser 2x as fast!! :D

No wonder this mech cost more than the mammoth tank.

Could only take one screenshot, so I lost the screenshot show the different mechs. :(

Sure thing. Was playing as NOD. Superweapon was available - boom!

My Av Warmech was attacking the GDI Refinery with slow and little damage so I had it "ate" and upgraded with flame and laser. It then blasted the refinery to smithereens withing seconds! :thumbsup:

COH is totally crazy. I don't think my 7900GS can even play it at good settings. Anyway I just bought the preorder card ytd. :D

I D/L the demo and its damn smooth! I expected it to eat alot of resources like COH but hardly any HDD activity and the game loaded in seconds.

Chances are if you have a decent card this game will work

Anyone has problems with the cutscenes? My video and audio are out of sync. I googled and found quite a number of people having the same problem. The official note says the problem may occur if running under vista using ATI 1900 series of card. I'm running Windows XP Professional, AMD Thoroughbred 2400+, nVidia 6600GT, 2GB RAM. Updated all my drivers and turned on video and audio acceleration already. My friend had the same problem but it went away after he disabled Hyperthreading on his P4 2.8GHz.

I heard there is this problem in the demo. I haven't notice it in the game quite. EA did release a temp solution for this which is to Alt + Tab outta game, then in task manager set the priority for the game to high. :)

Oo thanks for the tip. I'll try it out.

Edit: Just tried setting priority to high. It doesn't work. Video is still out of sync with the audio.

The Mothership is awsome and Scrin Assault Carrier is cool also, floating worms. I think i clear through once first then replay it to try get a perfect one.

Addictive, once started, hard to put it down.

Yea, the Scrin's air units got super long range sia... My anti-air gun can't even reach them and my mammoths just sit there and tio whack. Really need to micro-manage more now.

Sorry dude, can't find any info on this. Everytime i search for Intel, links to the chip will show up.

I find the AI sometimes too proactive even in defensive mode. Have to switch them to 'Hold Ground' to prevent them from rushing in and dying.

I did the GDI prologue mission, but it never ended! I managed to take over all the NOD buildings with my engineer but the game never ended?! Strangely, air support was never given like the many other times I've played.

NOD T-shirt i wear tight fit sia.. I'm hoping it expands as i'm now wearing it... =P

BTW Grace Park looks hot in this game.

I realised the game is slightly buggy. Some missions when I restarted, they don't prompt some of the optional missions. I am guess that was what happen to my GDI missions, that's why I can't find the intel.

Manage to find the mutant base in Sarajeva and completed the intel there, the rest still MIA... :(


Btw, not sure if you guys know, but when retreating your troops, press "D" and move, your units will reverse instead of turning round and move. The guide says it will take less damage as the armour at the front is thicker than the rear. :)

I end countered this before also!! Not sure which mission but the mission didn't trigger off further, so got to restart.

For the last GDI mission, the trigger also inconsistent. The second optional mission which is to lure the mothership to Nod's base don't trigger off as fast some of the time (which is good coz you really need to focus on the first optional mission, and if the trigger goes off, the mothership will start moving!!).

This day 1 patch addresses some very important fixes and exploits. I also want to note that we are already working on patch 1.2 which will technically be our first major patch with balance changes, more bug fixes, added maps, etc. That is slated for late April. But today... you get to download patch 1.1 :o)

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have made an option in patch 1.1 that will allow you to turn off the Kane Edition skins if you'd like. This is purely a matter of preference, so if you want the normal skins, download the patch and have at it!

· Fixed an error that would sometimes cause a Commentator's telestrator drawings to not erase when intended during BattleCast matches.

· Fixed issues with replay file playback.

· Fixed placeholder text and chat log errors with the Comrade in- game chat window.


Other Changes

· References to Nod's "Avatar Warmech" unit have been changed to "Avatar".

To get this patch just log online to to C&C 3 multiplayer to begin the download.

The mutant is at Sarajevo where you suppose to take down the ion cannon disruptor and then use ion cannon on the Temple Prime. :D

I realised it always happens when I try to skip the videos and do not wait for the narration to complete. For example, in the GDI Prologue mission, if I didn't wait for the narration to say 'new units are available at the barracks', and I just proceed with taking over the buildings with 2 of the airdropped engineers, I will not get the option to build engineers for rest of the mission. O.o Weird huh, but it happens.

And they include Mammoths and Zone Troopers!! They take out the Obelisk of Light like Commandos taking out infantry sia.

Wah ... Mammoths and Zone Troopers is a deadly combo. Try Venoms against them since both units don't have anti-aircraft capabilities.

Technology is locked. I am trying EMP buggy but seriously need alot of micromanagement coz they are attacking on 4 sides.

Just completed the game sia. Seems like the 2nd last mission for Nod and Scrin are much more difficult compared to the last mission, especially Nod's, really need super fast responses coz you need to simultaneously capture alot of buildings at one go, otherwise life will be damn hard for you.

The Scrin's commando mission is also quite hard compared to the other two coz they disabled the attack on the commando, so you can only use your abilities. While mind controlling one unit, you must constantly look out for your commando coz there are other units that may ambush it. The second part of the mission, I found a method to exploit the AI. Continue mind controlling the barracks and it will lure all the enemies units to it and they can't attack it!! Next, send all the aerial units to the top right and attack slowly from long range. The carrier's Ion Storm will continue healing your units so you will kinda have infinite lives. :D

I tried head on approach and got overwhelmed by their base defenses and units, so that method I intro is a sure win with zero deaths on your side. ;)

Wah loa..just like croatia stage kenna hammered by 4 sides, need to protect all my defense units while waiting for reinforcement. But then when reinforcement comes, they need me to rescue them -_-"

Better off they airdrop it.

Now i'm stuck.

I got the hang of that stage. Instantly build about 4 attack bikes and place them at the site where you found the truck coz the GDI will reinforce from there. Have them on aggressive mode so they will auto attack the carriers.

To the left of your base got 5 money crates, 3 on the left side of the lane and 2 on the right, you need Shadow Team to get them. Use all your resources and start build base defenses for the front. Send about 4 rocket soldiers to the right of the base and they can take care of everything there.

So your focus will be the front and left lane. For the first wave, it's an infantry wave so station your commando (centre) and Shadow Team (left, actually up to you, just need a unit that can kill infantry fast) there.

When you got about 8 tanks, build a couple of buggy as decoy and EMP them into the base on the left and chiong in to take out or capture the base there. I find capturing it better coz you can get to build rigs and use it to advance later. After that just hold out until reinforcement comes and you can start adding Avatars to your army and take out the base on the right, or just chiong forward and send the convey across to complete the mission. :)

Mi, i mean your plight is somehow similar to Croatia stage where i'm now playing as GDI campaign. Holding the base was ok, but to resuce the reinforcement team with the force i had was kinda hard.

GDI is slightly easier in my opinion coz their units are stronger. Nod is really weak. :(

Now playing for the Gold Medals and I saw in one of the stage in Nod, which I missed out 1 intel, I completed the mission too fast such that the intels were not collected coz the event was not triggered off.

just complete GDI campaigns... think got 2 ending. one is u use the liquid tiberium and end the war fast according to Boyle's will. the other is u use ur own, "humane" way to end the war. haha. ALIEN SUX!!!!!!!!!!! the mothership can't even withstand my pitbulls.... hahaha

Anyone still into this game? I know I am and in exactly two weeks' time the expansion Kane's Wrath is coming out. :D
