Though chatroom has its advantage like have lastest information of new toys or so on. But who will willing to put up the lastest information on the chatroom in such that people who can't benefit that advantage will still get the information?

Since if thats the case, my suggest is that give it a go maybe like a week or a month to see how it goes, if it is successful, then launch it.. but if it is not, then we will be back to square one

Increase line liao the viewing space is still consider quite small.

unless the chat is site based, else it will be an either/or situation, either all chating in chatroom ended up HH very quiet or all go back to HH and chatroom nobody use.

but I would rather not waste site capacity aka access speed or bandwidth on chats, would rather the pages loads faster.

Actually we were deciding between shoutbox and chatroom previously, and went for shoutbox because not many people at that time. Let's see how the poll goes and we can may be able to get it up for trial. It won't be IRC, just a private HH chatroom.

Personally, i think there is still no need for a chatroom at the moment.
If everyone notice, HH's main traffic flow is usually during the noon hrs and the evening. Other than that the whole forum hardly moves...
No need to set up a chatroom just for the convenience bah. If want, can just gather few members chat in yahoo or msn messenger. The feel is abt the same.

There are limited ways to improve the shoutbox since its only purpose is only for easy chatting, and even possible to put it on every page, but to put it on the sidebar will shorten the length, so we will still maintain it on top, full length at the moment :)

Just a note, those who find that the shoutbox is taking up too much space, you can click the arrow button on the top right hand corner of the shoutbox window, which will minimise it. :)
