Anybody watch the Japanese 西游记 on Starhub CH 56? Quite fresh idea. They changed the story here and ther and the interesting thing is that 唐三藏is a woman!

This dorama was shown in Japan in the January this year. The scenary was done in Australia.
The average ratings of this dorama was 22.82%, a pretty good results for the trend now.
Kimura Takuya made his guest appearance as the bird-man, Gen-yoku Daio (Great King of Phantom Wings), in eps1. Of course with kimutaku's help, eps1 hit a high ratings of 29.2% liaoz. Then they spread rumors that the other SMAP members will appear too.(BUT NEVER APPEARED LOR!!!!:( )

Also, there are some weird changes in this dorama.

Gokuu is the 3rd disciple... huh!? He is the bad temper kid in the show. Will throw tempers when hungry or thirsty...
Gojou is the most secretive disciple and uses a different weapon from the original story we knew...
Then of the the master, Sanzou. Its a she!!! Btw, for everyone's information, she really shaved bald for this dorama!!!!:o

Watch out for Rin Rin, she is quite cute.:D

There was also a SP eps which shows the grp of them travelling to the modern Taiwan.:|
Also, it is said that they will be recruiting back the same cast to do a movie for this...

One thing power abt this dorama is that they have a guest appearance for every eps. And all the guests are of a pretty high level of fame wan...

There are no pics of Goku(Katori Shingo). This is a common practice by his company. The company does not allow any websites or sources to publish pics of its artistes other than themselves.

I also heard that this one is by SMAP, and they twist the story really haywire :laugh:

Katori Shingo is the Goku and Kimura Takuya is the Gen-yoku Daio(bird devil.)
