Anyone into Zoids?

So far I have gotten quite alot of zoids but many still waits in their boxes for me to start work on them :D

Up coming is The Great Sabre due in Aug :dance: this is a must get for all zoid lovers...

I collect Zoids. :hello: Got the whole NJR series, quite a few limiteds/exclusives, a couple of Fuzors, some OJR, some Zoids 2, a few NAR. As for the latest Genesis, still thinking whether want to pick up the Bios, don't quite like them as compared to regular Zoids.

Hi gogetter,

I don't collect the whole series, only buy those that i like...
prefer the ligers & the gojulas....
but too bad missed out the Gojulas MKII.... :bang:
the last one I got was the hound from Genesis....
the Bios looks great...but they can't move & they are made in China...too bad heard that the china made zoids don't really have good quality like the Thai made ones....

I also collect selected pieces of Tomica, Hotwheel, gundam & SOC...

Do you only collect zoids or is there any other toys that you colect?

I collect zoids. But until now only have 2. Ultra Saurus and Gojulas Giga. Prefer large and bulky zoids :supz:

Only got whole series for NJR. Fuzor I have only Gorhecks, Aerosaurer, Ultimate Seismo and Jet Falcon. So far Genesis only got Hound Soldier, Cannonfort, Soul Tiger and Murasame.

For Genesis, I bought Brastle Tiger, Murasame Liger, Soul Tiger, Cannory Molga and Hebby Rhimos. Won't be getting the rest of the Genesis Zoids unless something interests me. ;)

These are the new line of Zoids called Bio-Zoids. Non-motorized and posable only. And I heard from those who bought them, that they stink too. :o :shock:

And they had something to say about Genesis line of Zoids. I hope Tomy is reading.
Genesis
In early 2005, another new Zoid line was launched to tie into the Zoids Genesis anime. The line consists of a mixture of old designs, new designs and older designs with new parts.

So far the line has been mixed; the re-releases (Which included two Zoids not previously re-released) have been well received. The New designs have not done so well, however. The newer designs have been plagued by quality control issues and production errors, and there has been a lot of criticism of the substantially “pre-built” nature of a lot of the models.

Genesis is commonly abbreviated as GZ.

I'm thinking of painting this baby white. I've bought a can of white paint but I've realised that most of the parts are quite tiny. Should I sell away my can of paint and buy some regular bottled ones so that I can handpaint most of the small parts?

Actually using spray cans can be pretty wasteful cause you can't control the flow. Not easy to paint white if you got big parts.

huhsimi, yes zoids are model kits like gundam & most comes with motorise part, so the zoid can move, light up their eyes, some even has sound :D

some zoid collector do customise their zoids.
go give it a try, you'll like it.
since you are quite expert in gundam, can try on the Gildragon, very nice :thumbsup:

hi huhsimi ^^ to add to what meow has already said. Zoids come with moulded colour plastics that require no painting and requires no cement or glue to fix up.

I want to spary painting my zoid, but no experience in this skill. Those zoid come with original colour, look too plastic to me. Would like to bring some life to them by painting them.

Anyone know how to pick up this painting skill?
Thanks again great_sabre. It took me a few long nights to paint the thing. The orange is difficult as it doesn't cover the primer easily. I used up 4 cans just for the orange.

Like Miracle said, painting is by trial and error. It's my first attempt too. Failed once and had to strip the paint.

If you wanna do air brushing, maybe you can sign up for courses at Achtung or Hobby Art Gallery.
