3G SAF-Overhype?

Here's my take on our army's transformation to 3G soldier. I am a bit bemused by my usual radio station of 98fm. The station broadcast clips of our army's and there was this take on the 3G army, harping our capabability of our army to be a lethal force using 3G.

Here's my take, if you adopt 3G, Are we putting ourselves at risk with an integrated system. Is it encrypted? How strong is this kind of encryption. Are we to solely depend on this to fight or defend ourselves. We are saying that we are 3G capable, what if our enemies have similar capablilty, hacking into our system, spreading false information.

The recent exercise in Mojave desert by our SAF was a poor example of 3G. Using PR, the media spun a wham bam holloywood scenario that our Apache's took out the column of armoured vehicles liked cannon fodder. What makes it think that we are capable if US. One of the leading arm forces which is also 3G capable have troubles, with casualties in the range of 2k fighting the middle east war

If you are fighting a modern warfare, I think this type of intellegence system is useful and very advantageous, although we always hear only the good side of the story. If we have flaws, so will others. But for the Ex to be a success, I think there's no big deal. All excercises suceeds as they have pump in too much resources, practising the routine many times to make it fail-proof. A test only comes in real war, and if your enemy engages you in built-up area, its down to earth brawl :beatup:

I totally argee rascal_father our SAF have a long way to go if they are to be a true blue 3G force.

My officers & Sergents all use their handphone rather then their stupid manpack radio. (signallers delcare radio suck compared to GSM phones lol)

SAR21 rifle I was told to be design by a lady in STK LOL dun know how true, but the fire selection button will do more harm in wasting ammo and quick reaction.

Then is our tanks Bonix is a joke with open turrent (good for killing tank commanders with RPGs) for 40mm/12.7mm guns, 25mm turrent (enclosed) not mounted with anti-tank missile. All new IFV of world do have missile mount to the IVF turrent.

SPH Pirmus is 39cal compared to redland's 52cal and MRL (Mutil-Rocket Luacher), SAF willing bought this in full knowlegde that the SPH has to move a minimum 11 KM in dangerous kill zone of redland artillery fire. Say so many I think SAF sure to lose its "3G" status in events like a terrorist bombing in MRT no need to fight others to review its "FOX tail". Dun know our buget of US$10 billion is for lining whos' pocket after Singapore willing to buy F-15SG (Shoot Girl) eagle.

Dun know desert warfare is SAF foray, AH-64A have long extablished the Apache line is very good at the environment. Personnally SAF going to exercise there is to waste taxpayers $$$ for no good reasons. We in fact must upgrade the Longbow Apache quickly to our environment with "Mexican's help again" and test it in the home ground. Take out a cloume of vechicle is not a very hard acheive using AH-64D but do anyone in redland will let you take "shooting the duck gallery" style to do that on its forces. SAF and the media thinks everyone is so stupid in fact they wasted tens of millions to show things people and redland long know or could have taken off internet.

3G means a lot of learning for infant SAF who think he has all the "toys in the world" to play with. NO NO BAD BABY YOU HAVE TO EDUCATED YOURSELF B4 YOU CAN PLAY!!!
