I read till nearly Zzzzzz... Too much words man. Also abit tired of keeping changing the dairy or pass around to another owner.

Not your style ah? I especially like the words, all the important things are there. And yes, it doesn't depend on drawing, although they are already to standard :hello:

Didn't get the entire series, one by one, if not reach book 6 have to wait for another 3 months :devil:

ANyway I am still up to book 2 only. I think the part where he killed the FBI guys are the best. Cutting the holes on the envelope, using the FBI's hands to kill his own guys.....really clever :rock:

The story plot is good I agrees. Maybe I was quite tired during that time while I was reading it. So got those sleeping bugs trying to makes me to close my eyes =))

Quite strange for L and Light to work together to investigate who is the culprit who holds the death note especially when Light loses all his memories after giving up as the owner of death note. Imagine Light had causes so much troubles and killed so many victims. Now losing all his memories makes him to becomes a righteous side for now :prayer: Dun u feels ackward??

He used the chinese saying 险中求胜。
Also, he had no choice liaoz. Thats the only way he can make himself seems "innocent". L is also not bad lor, but personally i still feel that Light is slightly smarter than L. :prayer:

Well, pls note that I'm not trying to argue here ah... Just like sparring with each other rather than arguing or quarrelling :mrgreen:

If Light is smarter than L, he shouldn't volunteer to lock himself up in the room at the first place for further investigation. This is a bad move made by him. He volunteer to stay inside the small room for observation and finally given up which he can't beared with it after a long period.

What does this tell? Light was defeated by himself and chosen the choice by giving up the death note. Why he chooses this path? He knew that he will loses all his previous memories and this is the only way to mades L 轉移目標 on others rather than he himself. But this doesn't means his wits was higher than L at all. Light never wins this battle actually...

I dun really thinks that Light is smarter than L in my opinion. Both are equally smart to me... 各有千秋... Hoped to see both of them working together to find out who is the 2nd person holding the death note :supz:

You all think its is better than Kindaichi series? Although both are different in nature, it is still a story with intellectual strength. I personally think it is better, really hope more of such kind of titles can come out! =D>

I read in another forum that L will be killed and a boy and a girl will take over him. Got any such news? Don't wish to see him die, as he is my favoourite character now in DN :D

I just finish Book 6, really exciting at the end. The worse case now would be Higuchi says "I give up" and Rem takes away the death note, just like what Light did before, but cant' be so simple :power:

Will it be possible if another guy from 四葉 holds the other copy of death note? The one who look like Morpheus from matrix?

Its just a great story that just won't be so predictable =D>

I was flipping thru the japanese weekly manga magazines at Liang Court Kino today "reading" abt the latest issue on Death Note. Saw a new character, i think he is a new player of Death Note. But i didnt see any creature following behind him, so i not confirm if he has Death Note. According to my Pte Ltd understanding of the Japanese words, this guy's name is N and he seems to have kidnapped Light's sister. I think he is also hijacking a plane too. A hardcore challenger to Light and L. But i only saw Light in the pages, no L...

Could L have been??? :shooting:

Btw, Light has his Death Note back and the same creature is following him again. :rock:

Kira is the name police use for Light initially, but since they don't know that the owner of DN can change, its still the overall name used.

That means L is probably gone, actually I like him more than Light because of his weird behaviour :(

Aside from the story, I must say the author is very good in stringing a tight story. Though not as twisted in the story telling of 20th century boys, but the story unfold gradually. The author actually have 2 points of view, one from the good guy and the other bad. When the story was begining, i thought maybe the twisted b*stard(that's my name for him) was the good guy, in the end we slowly get to know that this fellow is actually cold, calculating and evil. Then you sorta of feel digusted supporting him until L came about. At first i thought he was the bad guy, but i was wrong. L though percular, he is actually very analytical and clever( i suspect the author modelled himself to this character) and trying to narrow down the leads. The way they tried to track each other down is interesting, not to mention the twisted b*astard ways of getting leads to diss of his victims.

another thing i noted is that i believe the deathnote god have his own set of agenda.judging from how he let things happen and observe, he got something in his mind.

that's my 2 cent worth. will track the rest of the issues.

Light is the Kira lor. Kira is the term given by the cops coz it means Killer.
Misa is the 2nd Kira, but with greater powers than Light, being able to see the names of any pax just by looking. This is only possible coz she made a pact with the Death God for the eyes. In exchange, she gave half her lifespan to the Death God. This is something Light didnt want coz he believes that he is more than capable and will live to rule earth as the god so his lifespan is very impt. :prayer:

I only interpret the pics. The Death God who used to follow Light is following ard him again in the latest few weekly issues. They are communicating. But i am not sure if this will mean that Light remembers the past before he gave up his Death Note the 1st time...

I dun understand why would anyone actually label Light as evil or hate him that much.
I dun see anything wrong with what he did and think. His actions for killing ppl from the start was to "clean up" the society. I might have actually chosen to be like him if it was me. I dun think he is wrong, its the society that is wrong and needs a reform badly.

Instead, i dislike the current Kira in vol6 lor. Not only does he look ugly, even his intelligence and actions taken were unforgiveable. :shooting:

reading the comics threw up alot of interesting feedback. i was taken aback by Light liberty in killing lor, even though he was trying to reform society. but his way of reform is liked a big paintbrush over a certain minority.he also demonstrate the coolness and calculative thinking of removing his victims and trying to remove his trackers. Definitely scary in his thought process, he is an unpredictable wild canon, even the Death God is surprised by his actions.Light does put in alot of effort in hiding his track and deathnote with the elaborate drawer hide-out. there was this part when he caught up with an FBI agent and to prove that he got the power to kill, he actually made this old man collapse infront of the agent to prove his point.Futher into the story was when he was afraid that the agent's fiancee was going to blow his cover, he trick her into releasing her identity and wrote the deathnote to make her go away and commit suicide. scary but disturbing. On the back of what is happening to our local scene regarding the kallang murder, i shudder to think that if there is really a deathnote and the killer is as cold as Light and coolly writing down the cause of death. Very scary.

The storyline was so pretty well plot, can't waits for the vol 7 to be released. What will happens to the current Kira actually?? I guessed probably will be either death sentence or commit sucide ..

In his mind, Light is not trying to create chaos. Thats never his intention at all. He has the mentality of "cleaning" up the corrupted and "dirty" society now, which i totally agree. :salute:
And, Light did not reveal to anyone at all that he is the Kira. But he only dropped hints but he is careful that no clear answers to his name is given to anyone. :dance:
I would only say L is on par with Light. Coz L has never really been able to be 100% sure that Light is the Kira. And L's death shows that he loses to Light afterall. =D>
I am not a supporter of "Hero propaganda". I hate it when stories/shows/mangas like to protrait that the good people and nice people should be the hero. Thats showing the wrong info to the mass public, just like fairy tales where only the kind, pretty ppl get to live happily ever after. Thats not the real situation in the society now lor. [-X

I think what rascal said about the story may be quite true, the author/plot writer feels that the society needs a cleanup. In reality they can't do that, but hope that someone like Light appears and do the cleaning. However, they put the story across in a mind-engaging way, lets you enjoy the plot but at the same time think of the society problems.

Just like Batman, Spiderman etc etc, sometimes people really wish that such heroes exist to fight the bad guys off. Like kazuki say, he is not a hero supporter, so probably the authors are the same minds, why should the cleanup be done by heroes only?

Thus Light appears, a student, highly intellegent, smart and calm, not able to fly across buildings, deal people with deadly blows or with special powers, but only armed with a brain and notebook.

Not easy to understand the intention or the message put across lah, but I just go and enjoy the comic as it is :hello:

Actually it is based on individual's thoughts... People always wanted a true hero rather than a badass. But some might dislike the heroes.

Just like Liu Bei & Cao Cao. They have their own supporters which is quite similar to L & Light too.

Quite surprising that the author creates L with such character. No true friends around him except for some reliable & trusted partners working together with. He is not those charming guys with dark eye shadow under his eyelips. Weird behaviours etc..

Can tells that the author is more sided to Light from the way that he creates a great outlook for him. High IQ & EQ, top students in the school, great popularity among the gals, good charming, great in sports, great hacking skills, cool, calm, good observation etc... Like no any weakness spotted on him.

This title should puts it as a end once L is dead. No points to carries on with a new successor named "N". What if "N" is dead, will a new character named "S" or "A" coming out in future?? Like never ending 1.

i think the author is very successful in moulding the character's personality. and i think all these persoanlity is revealing the actual one happening in japan, that's why one of the reason this book gain a lot of interest from the reader, coz they got 共鸣.
i think the author "kill" L too soon leh...shld pro long his life to fight against light...i enjoy their mind game very much. many nice plot...not the story a bit over-do liao...hope the author can come up with new interesting plot. not many comic in the market on this kind of topic. very unique & always make the reader 不能自拔 once u started reading it. rite, eng cheong?

Q detective i stop half way, only read the first few books. too many title, cannot tahan liao :mrgreen: but i think its story line also not bad. i personally like detective and those plot that twist here twist ther one, make me keep guessing and thinking wats going to happen next. very interesting rather than just read and admire the art.

Dun really thinks that DN is a better detective title. The whole story for DN is based on challenging of wits between L & Light. Readers only interested who will be the winner within L & Light unlike Kindachi or Conan, more interested to know who is the culprit or murderer and why they did that etc...

If I've to choose, I'll choose Kindachi and Q Detective rather than DN for detective story. More realistic :supz:

This issue Light really cunning and all the planning are explaned, full of words though.

"Part 2" of the story now started, about 4 years after L died. 2 kids are introduced, with one of them which is very similar to L taking over his role. The other goes towards the dark path, but with these 2, the story is bound to be more interesting.

The two new candidates are 尼亚 and 梅洛.
尼亚 is the smart calm one, very similar to L actually.

梅洛 is more hot-tempered, quite smart also. Will resort to violence to do things.

Did Misa lose here memory? I think she still remembers everything since Ryuk is with her and she did not give up. She even knows that Light is Kira, and like what you all say, the only thing she probably dont know is that Light made use of her to kill L.

I think she did lose her memories. From what i remember, the memories Misa had before she took back her deathnote, are all told from L wan. So its not complete. She only realise more things after she found the deathnote L burried and told her to find.

Even though L still alives, 4 yrs had passed and never ever takes any actions against Light. Light had been killing too much criminals, and L never even stopped him once. Just wondering, what's the point for Misa Misa to exchange her eyes??? L already been forced to dead by Light, no point doing that. I guessed might have some use in future especially to check on L's successor and his opponents...

I also think that he is really dead, bcos given Light's intellegence, he would have make sure it is not a fake death.

Initially misa misa wants to exchange eyes so that she can know the identity of L and help Light kill him. The actions by Rem (killing of watari and L) are not really within Light's plan, although he wants him "dead" through helping misa.

One thing we cant be sure:
Did Rem really kill L? I cant accept it coz they didnt show him writting lor, only say he disappear from the L and gang's sight for a while.

Misa exchanging for deathgod's eyes was within Light's prediction. He knew there is a chance that Misa cant remember L's real name. But this is something Rem didnt expect. I guess the deathgods arent as smart as humans afterall. 8-)

I'm just wondering why the arthor had this in mind for exchanging Misa's eyes since he already decided to let Rem doing the work(killed L), not explaining to me why Misa did that etc...

Might as well Misa telling the real name(L) to Light and let him finish the job instead. Else there is no point for her to exchange eyes and reduce half of her life wasn't it?? Even though if Light needs her help in future, Misa could always echange her eyes anytime since she was so devoted to Light :director:

There was a bug in this story which I just realised about Misa. According to the DN rules, the DN owner will reduced half of his/her lives while exchanging the eyes in order to views the names by looking at anyone.

Assuming that Misa can lives up to the age of 80 yrs old(estimation). Since she had dealed with Rem once, she should lives up to the age of 40 yrs. And now, she dealed with Ryuk the 2nd time, at the age of 20, she should be living in this world wasn't it?

Since 4 yrs have passed after L's dead, She should be around 20's by than. She should be either dead or maybe 1 yrs left by now from the calculation. Just wondered whether the aurthor knows about this matter, else she lives till 30 yrs old still haven't died also quite miracle :laugh:

Anyone can explained that whether my calculation or the DN rules(about exchanging the eyes) are wrong?

According to Light's plan, the best senerio will be that Misa can remember L's. But for a smart pax like Light, he has prepared emergency senerios also. So the 2nd senerio will be that Misa will change for Deathgod's eyes, confirm. Coz of her love for him.
Like EC posted previously, Rem killing Watari and L wasnt within his prediction. Light didnt expect that Rem's love for Misa can be so great. Coz if Rem is to kill Watari and Light, Rem will have to die.

Misa exchanged for Deathgod's eyes coz she feels bad that she cant remember L's name. So she feel the responsibility to find out the name, only way will be to exchange for the eyes.

2nd
I think Misa should be in high sch back then, 4yrs ago.(idols start very young in Japan) Meaning she should be ard 16 then. Lets say she initially have 80yrs of life, 1st exchange will half it, left 40yrs old. Then she half again, left 20yrs old. She should be dying off soon in the story, maybe ard 1yr left. But thats we are taking that she had 80yrs. We also have to consider that Japaneses are famous for long life wan lor. So if we take that she had 100yrs, then its a different case liaoz. [-X

Yeah I know what is going on but just feels that it is a waste for her to exchange for her eyes, where she never even helped Light at all at that moment. I supposed most DN fans doesn't wants Misa Misa to die right, shouldn't let her exhange for the 2nd deal actually in order to sees her more in the book...

I just feels that the arthor was just trying to plays around with those hot characters. Esp people like the FBI and his fiance, Rem, L etc... These are the potentials 1 but just suddenly died in such ways :bang:

This just reminds me of Gantz. All potential characters must died :cry:

Actually Light's plan is to let misa enter the headquaters, meet L again and get his name, but not to kill him immediately as it will arouse to much suspicion. He wants to let the matter go on for a while 1st before taking action, preferably if there is a chance where L goes into hiding, than his death will be unclear. So misa's exchange of eye still got its use.

For the age problem, I think Light would have thought of how to counter it. According to DN, the deathgod does not die when he is affected by love and he does not die when he kills people, but he dies only when he is affected by love and he kills a person who is suppose to let the DN holder die. This is what happens to the 1st deathgod who likes misa. And in this case, the un-natural death of the killer will cause his age to be transferred not to the deathgod. Maybe abit confusing..sample:

1. Misa left 20yrs old.
2. If the natural story goe on, L will catch misa and he so call "becomes" misa's killer because it is death sentence as Light ask misa to kill the convicts using her copy of DN, and all evidence will be against misa.
3. Sensing that Light have planned everything against misa, Rem kills L. although he also knows that Light did this to kill him.
4. If Rem do not have love for Misa, he wont disappear, but because he do, he dies.
5. When deathgod kills, the dead person's age is supposed to transfer to the deathgod.
6. But in this case, because of the love issue, Rem dies, and the remaining age of L is transferred to misa.
7. Finally, misa heng heng gets to extend her life to at least 60 or 80 years, but in fact all have been planned by Light.

So after everything ends, Rem and L dies, only 1 deathgod left, both DN with Light, misa got her exchange of eye to help him in future, and her life is extended so that he can make use of her.

Does there a rule by transfering the rest of the lives to another human if a deathgod broke the rules?? I'm not sure about this though..

I dun get it how EC explains Misa gets a life extension.
Why is it that after Rem dies, L's remaining life will be transfer to Misa? Was it written in the rules too? Did i miss it???

I cant exactly remember too, have to flip that part where the 1st deathgod dies. I think its when A is the destined killer for B, and deathgod kills A because he likes B, he will disappear, than where does the lifespan suppose to go to? It will go to B instead of the deathgod since deathgod is already dead. Initially those deathgods are suppose to kill once in a while to increase their lifespan.
