Umm are you refering the the one with the 2 large swords? Its a Sword Impulse, From Seed Destiny.

For the Gouf, think today if i got time, i can go check my catalogue for you. Alot of SD are quite rare in SG. If cant find here, have to order online. My personal fav but cant find is No.62 (Hyakushiki & Mega Bazooka Launcher), if got time scan and let you see the pic.

personally, I dont like chrome & transparent kit.
the colour will fade over time for the chrome ones & plastic will turn yellowish for the transparent ones...

used to built quite alot of 1/144 kits but after a while I find that if I dont paint the kit, it would not lokk as nice as the box art, so I gave up....

until recently I realise that the MG kits needs minimum painting or no painting then I start thinking of building gundam again :D

Urahara_Store, you really into mecha hor....

Hehe yah me really like mechs but too bad budget very small siah. Indeed that 1/144 scale ones if not painted doesn't look nice and for chromes and transparents, the maintenence is really high. Very high. MG sets if left without painting looks more ok like what Meow have said, i have a few and most of the time only the upper part of the body is not bad, normally the legs one colour only sigh.

This is my fav SD but cant find in SG
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Urahara_Store/Hyakushiki.jpg

For your Gouf, i can only find one. If not this maybe its a special piece bah. catalogue don't include special editions one or else it is produce after yr 2004.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Urahara_Store/gouf1.jpg
Gouf, No.54, produce in November 2000.

As for RX78-GP01 FB:
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/Urahara_Store/rx.jpg
MG 1/100 series produce in December 97
There are actually 3 version. There is another 1/144 and 1/60 one. Don't know which one you saw.

dalton
20-10-2005, 05:51 PM
i saw that on internet only is MG 1/100 couldnt get it anywhere liao is it?
i saw the gouf custom picture on the internet also.. not the one u show actually!!

Urahara_Store
20-10-2005, 06:03 PM
Hmm maybe a special edition or a release after 2004 bah cause my catalogue only from 1980 to 2004 excluding special editions. For the RX, maybe you can check out the specialise shops and ask if they still have stock anot bah. Seldom go shopping for these kits liao sorry cant help much. From my catalogue, the 1/144 one actually comes with an extra plane fyi. All the best in your search, those very long tima ago release are hard to find.

Actually me also just a beginner. Do 2 kits then stopped liaoz, no time lor, job commitment...

IF i not wrong, Topcoat has two types. Spray ones or paint ones. I used the spray cans wan, easier lor.
Then for Topcoat, there are 3 different types also. flat, semi-gloss and gloss. Like its name, they are different in terms of the glossiness or dull. It actually also serve as a layer of protection to the paint u painted.
But BEWARE!!! Rem try not to spray it on rainy or humid days. I read that it will give a ugly results on your kit.

Hmm to me topcoat to kits is like adding lacquer or shellac to furniture. final protecting layer. About the rainy day thingie, i tried once on rainy day, my kit turns blur don't know is it because of that sob.

Hi, I'm a total gundam model kit fan. I have done a lot of model ever since i was 18. At that time, it was mainly HG (High Grade) and the scale was 1/100. Now I'm doing mainly MG (Master Grade). Hope we can discuss more on the models.

Also I recently went to Miniature Hobby at Marina Square and discovered that they sell Gundam Model Kits from China. It so called a "pirated" version, but there is no Bandai word on it. The packaging is totally the same.

I saw the PG Gundam Wing Zero 1/60 selling at S$99 only instead of the original Bandai price of S$255.

For people who do not know this place, please do go take a look. However the quality and the moulding of the parts are not as good as the original Bandai. They need to be filed and it is difficult to paint it, need to use Primer.

If your skill is good enough, the end product should be more or less the same as original Bandai kits

Cheers

Btw, anyone here has done a Falcon unit for the Double X? I've got a double X thought of getting the Falcon unit but cant find siah, furthermore i leave them 'raw' one, no paint so need to check out how is it 'raw'.

For me if i wanna try to do a minimum add on colouring or lining, i tried using the Gundam Markers on my 1/144 kits b4. outcome not bad but quite flat. The pink is very nice(those use for beam sabres).

hhmm actuallly in my opinion if you are not paint them its better to assembly the MG or 1/100 ungraded one.... the HG 1/144 is not strong in colour scheme, hence the picture not the same as the actual things done!!!
the only HG 1/144 that close to actual thing i think is HGUC..... the Seed HG sucks without painting trust me!!!

the MG if u buy from HAG quite cheap compare to outside price....

That webby always show the final raw form at the end of the page=D> . Raw red and blue 100 is also quite bad wor. Red frame sword, guard and hilt (The highlight of the mech) is bad siah although the blade is vacuum. The webby got show. Hmm i also wanna learn how to spray siah. kazuki
18-11-2005, 03:10 PM
erm...
I dun think airbrush will produce any results inferior to kits that are not painted or given a topcoat lor, unless u anymore spray lah.[-X

Its supposed to be better than spray cans coz the user can control the air pressure, so u get the shade and "pixels" u desire.

If airbrush is too much of an investment coz u think u arent much of a regular, probably u like to invest on a few cans of spray paints instead. Get the standard colors like white, black, blue, red. U cant go wrong of this few colors coz thats what MS are usually of.:supz: Can try those big cans of industrial ones if u think Tamiya or Mr Color/ Mr Hobby are still abit ex. But remember to try them out on useless parts 1st.
Also, u may also consider using cement to join the parts. Its good in the sense that u will minimise the seam-lines to the min. But of course more work is required, like waiting for it to dry, sanding off the excess hardened cement. Then also will confirm need to paint over it liaoz.
Maybe can invest on primer if u are ready for a even better result, but i think its too much work liao lor... Then panel-lines? It will give your kits a more defined colors and looks. If done swee swee, u can make the mechas like they are brand new from the Zaft factory, or they just came back from the battlefield.:salute:

I intend to do bits by bits over wkends and PH. Must really slowly do this time. My 1st work was a total flop coz i tried to be cheapo and used oil-based paint markers for painting.L-) :duh:

Yup i agree, airbrush is defintely better than spray cans, except that u need to do some maintenance over time and changing paint is troublesome.

Despite all that, the finishing done by air brush is defintely better.

Parklane got one gundam shop opened by this old Japanese guy, his shop name is Achtung.

His shop is mainly used to teach people the art of using an air brush. Although the shop is messy, but there is a big table in the middle. If you buy a kit from him, i think he has a package included for teaching u the spraying technique.

Highly recommended for beginners, cos beginners should learn the use air brush from start.

Yup i tried them before. Basically they are used to do some minor finishing, like mending a small color defect....

Included in the set is also a liner marker. There are 2 sets of markers of different color. One set has the water based liner marker and the other set has the oil based liner marker.

Hope this info helps

Cheers

Oh, if i am not wrong, ppl address him as Nakamoto-san. He is quite an expert in model kits. So learning from him will be a good experience. Do watch out for his promotions too. On and off he will have very good prices wan.:)

Yes, i read abt this too. ppl explain it as humidity problem. So remember not to do when raining. A big no no, even when spraying topcoat. It will give a blurrish result.

Gundam markers, i hear from ppl is that they usually use it for doing panel-lines. Convenient, but not the best result though.

If i do the spraying inside an enclosed cardbox, is it ok ?? I have done this before, but not on rainy days. So i'm not sure about the finishing difference ?

By the way I'm thinking, whenever I do Gundam. I start smelling those paints and thinner.

Would these actually affect our health ? I practically smell them everyday as I do my Gundams part by part per day.

kazuki

More or less confirm will affect health wan lor.
Its just like 2nd hand smoking. U dun smoke, but times u get to be ard smokers who smoke ard u. That will cause u to get problems also lor. Same logic.
I think its a small accumulating problem. So if possible, try to do it in a open space well vendilated.
