looking for this childhood comics

hi, guys, i need to tap into your knowledge on this forgotten title of mine. its a childhood comic that left a deep impression. if my memory serve me well, the story goes liked this when a group of kids have to escape the surface. their journey up was fraught with danger when they try to reach the upper world after the collapse of their city into the abyss.

any idea what title is this? its a very old title.dating to late 1980s.now trying to read up, to follow up on how are the kids

to all: that's the most i can recall. i vaguely remember seeing how the children running away from cannibals who have no food below. its' very interesting and uniquely among the usual fare of robots, and miss candy liked comics. There is almost the sense of urgency to escape to the surface with all the dread. I can't recall the author as that time, the visual image caught my attention. For goodness sake, at that time Primary six, my comics reading at best are panel arts, so whoever is the author, i really don't know. But i do know he can tell a good story with those simple art.

By the way, Rookiyong. what's the title of the book. I think i have seen the little boy. Could be the same book i used to read. If the book came out about that time(18 years back). Maybe its the one.

I dunno the name in Japanese, but Chinese name is just 飄流教室.

Release time should be at least 20 years ago based on the artwork, unless I have to flip through the advertisements to get the actual date. Even its not what you are looking for, it will still be a strong comic on the same kind of storyline. I didnt read it before but was very tempted to get it few years back.

It explores the hidden characters of human beings when faced with extreme conditions.

This series is available at Orchard Library. Read the whole story and there's a Jap Drama of this. Bought the drama but slightly different from the manga.

Almost cried reading this manga as it really touches my heart and talks abt how human behave under extreme conditions.

The beginning of the plot is abt how the whole school being teleported into the future where the whole world ceased to exist! With limited food & water resources in their school, they have to work hard rationing their food & water. But problem comes in when some decided to take control of these limited supplies for their own personal consumption.

In the mid of the story, some teachers went amok and brought some of the students to some other places, claiming to search for food and ended up killing the students.

Interestingly, their future world is indirectly linked to the existing world. Eg. the student's mum believed that they're still alive, and had a feeling that whatever she did will help her son. Thus when she hid a knife in a hotel room and in the future world, the students tried to escape from their teachers by running to that hotel. The male lead student managed to unearth that knife from that room to kill that teacher who's trying to kill him.

Also in the existing world, the parents erect a grave for the missing students outside the missing school, it appeared in the future world just outside the school buried under the sand.

Still have other things going on......can't really remember what other things had happened as well.

Very nice story.......hope the series is still available at Orchard Library ;)

It looks great, just happen to see a seller selling this titles to a buyer at Tiong Bahru MRT this evening with Kazuki. So that is the manga that u all refering to... Must go to the comic shop to rent it liao

Though the story is nice, but you may not like the art of this manga.
