I just got my copy of 玉郎大百科 from the comics shop. Quite a nice book for some basics of drawing comics. For those who like to appreciate HK style, you may like this. Total 100+ pages, about $8.40.

Wah $8.40 ah.. perhaps I rent it and take a look inside first before getting it

I don't think any shop will rent it, there are no stories inside, so meant to be more like a collectible and info book. actually 8.40 for this quality is not bad, if you get those japanese manga step by step guide, it will cost at least $15 :)

I also have one by 邱福龙 years back during 东方不败 time, flip until its so old, but that book also contains some artwork of him. I will dig it out and post up some pics.

There should be 1 - 2 copies at all CC's, other comic shops you may have to order :)

My usual comic shop at simlim, but i think you can get even better rate at m&a :mrgreen:

I just notice that this is printed as Book 1, so most likely there will be continuation, follow japanese style, like those beginner, advanced.....

m&a is at blk25 bedok south, double storey building, easy to locate.

but I went there yesterday didnt see it also, probably sold out also.

I'd agree with xiaobaosg -wow! These are really nice looking pages. In the UK its always "How To Draw Manga" or "How To Draw Marvel Style". These books can be very helpful to beginners though I have always maintained you need the basics such as pencils,shape templates,good pens and if you use brushes,good brushes and ink. However,There are so many cheaper pens,etc.,that do just as good a job as the most expensive!

Can I ask;you mention buying comics at CC and M&A -are these specialist comic stores?
