SINGAPORE: A Singaporean was killed when he was hit by a car at a car—wash centre in Johor Bahru, at about 11pm on Saturday.
Witnesses said that Mr Seow Wei Hua was sitting on a sofa at the centre, waiting for his car to be washed, when the tragedy struck.
A foreign worker, believed to be a Bangladeshi, was washing another car when he accidentally stepped on the accelerator of the car, which rammed into Mr Seow.
The 31—year—old accountant suffered injuries to his body and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
The authorities in Johor Bahru are now looking for the worker who sped off. They said it is not clear why he drove off.
They said that he must surrender within 24 hours, or a warrant of arrest will be issued.

I thought wash car normally will off engine one?
Another advantage of manual car, this wouldn't have happened if in free gear.

I dunno, I can think of a couple of reasons at least ... -__-"
[add] Maybe the worker was manoeuvring the car into position that's why engine on? Anyway, how much space could there have been for the car to accelerate ... even the worker step hard hard, the car so power until just move forward a bit then can kill the dude ah?
Suay, suay.

or..
the Porean could just have been a absolute dipshit..
I was also thinking about the case..
and having been to quite a few of these car wash places..
there is usually hardly enough room to maneuver the car,
much less rev up to a speed high enough to kill.
And I have also seen 1st-hand how some Sillyporeans behave there.
Total asswipes.. some of them..

I guess the thing for me is I can't figure out how the speed would be enough to kill, no matter how the victim behaved ... I mean, even you run toward and fling yourself also shouldn't be enough ... maybe the car somehow rolled over him and crushed him to death.

Yah, better disclaim properly, we also got wash car there before :|

I was just about to say that. :|
One of my colleague is speculating that the Bangladeshi worker is some hitman being hired to kill the dude. :|

To be killed this way the fellow must be sitting very close to the car while its being washed? Which makes no sense again since nobody would want to get themselves wet while waiting right?

makes everything very fishy..
which makes the him being a total jerkoff theory very likely.

Even if total jerkoff, what do you have to do to die from being hit by a car in a car-wash compound? Especially if he's merely sitting on a sofa as reported ...
I had a glance at the TNP report today, and they said that it was a car being driven in reverse.
Assuming all reports are accurate,
Reverse gear leh ...

reverse gear..
accidentally step on accelerator..
rammed into the guy who just happened to be sitting there waiting for his car to be washed..
suffered injuries to his body and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene..
the worker sped off..
not clear why he drove off and still not found..
(although i think we all know why it's actually pretty clear)
maybe its not an accident after all.
maybe kena humtum till die.

i had washed my car at this car centre before, i even sitted on the sofa and waited for my car to be ready.. actually the car is always washed at one side, after washed, the car need to be reversed to the location which just in front of the sofa for vacuum, dry clean.. if you are sitting on the sofa, in fact you are seeing the car coming towards you, if anything happen like this case, that's it..

TNP today reported that the coffin couldn't fit into the incinerator. In the end, to avoid having to chop corners and risk the body fall out etc, the family had to buy another coffin on the spot.
Piangz. Dunno what to say liao.
