Ebay scammers

Have any of you guys had bad experiences with dishonest sellers? For eg they list their items as MISb but sell you a tightly wrapped box which is, to your horror, used and worn when you get back to find out. Me and my friends had such a bad experience recently. The perpetrator's nick is cornyloopoo on ebay (as a fair warning to all collector bros out there). Any bros willing to share how they can even out the odds against such incorrigible users who abuse the system?

To me, online transactions are all based on trust, for overseas that is, local deasl usually can check on the spot so no issue i guess?

I think the feedback system is the best we can get to gauge a seller, sad to say...Its all about luck...
